The lives of two inept social workers are forever changed when a group of new inmates arrives at the woman’s shelter that they run. As the protagonist , a former sex worker, involves herself in an ill-advised romance and her friend attempts to comprehend the more of divorce, they deal with social and political complexity of feminism, sex, social-work, marriage and love forcing them to confront the actuality of who they are. The walls of their jaded reality close in on them as they fumble their way through challenges, laden with good intentions and misguided life lessons.
