You Weren't Meant to Be Human
Andrew Joseph White
White's first adult novel — horror set in rural Appalachia, where alien hives offer shelter to people with nowhere else to go. A trans body-horror novel about autonomy and who gets to decide what happens to your body. Named a best novel of 2025 by the Washington Post and Publishers Weekly. Extremely well made and extremely hard going.
